I currently have 2 PhD studentship opportunities (starting October 2017) through NERC’s EnvEast Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP).
The first is based at the University of East Anglia, UK, working with me, Jenni Barclay, Melanie Froude (University of Sheffield) and Adam Stinton (Montserrat Volcano Observatory) involving lots of exciting fieldwork on the island of Montserrat:
The second is based predominantly at the University of Plymouth, UK, working with Sarah Boulton (Plymouth), myself (University of East Anglia), Martin Stokes (Plymouth) and Michael Whitworth (AECOM). This project will involve lots of exciting fieldwork in Nepal:
These projects are open for anyone to apply but only UK residents and EU citizens that have been resident in the UK for 3 years prior to the start of the PhD will receive an annual stipend (~14,300 GBP). For all other applicants only tuition fees will be covered. However, each year UEA funds ~2 excellent EU candidates for PhDs so don’t let this stop you from applying!
You can apply through the EnvEast website and contact me or Sarah Boulton with questions.
